Great Start to the Campaign for the U11's

Fordingbridge U11’s first league games in the new London - Irish League has proved to a thoroughly successful day. They played four matches against Winchester, Overton, Reading Abbey 1 and Marlborough.

Our first match proved to be an great start to the day with a comprehensive display across the park eventually winning by a single try against a strong Winchester side.

Our next match saw our players fight a hard match against Overton they fought in all areas of the pitch but could not hold a very mobile and strong Overton team,Losing a closely fought match in the end.

This brought on Reading Abbey 1 and bridge stormed to an early lead through some good forward play which opened up the Reading defence with our backs linking well to score in the corner. The squad played strongly to deny wave after wave or Reading attacks before our defence was finally breached and they scored the equaliser

Our final match was against Marlborough, down by a player from the start through injuries, a tough game was envisaged, however the squad stepped up to the plate and stormed to an early lead, Marlborough came back strongly but there efforts pushing forward led to another break away try . Bridge added a third in the second half to break Marlborough to win 3 – 0

Two wins, one draw and a defeat! Not a bad start to the ‘League’.

Well done to the entire squad for all your hard work also to the parents who’s continued support is very much appreciated.
