Tim Beer makes the move forward with relative ease.

On a brisk but pleasant afternoon, Fordingbridge II entertained a youthful looking Oakmedians team. Mr President was in attendance so 'bridge felt it was their duty to entertain!!

Jordan Donaldson set the stall out within the first couple of minutes with a well taken try, which had come from good phase play and team work with backs and forwards linking well, the flying winger diving into the corner.

The onslaught continued, with Tim Beer looking like he played 7 all his life. Safe under the restart, explosive in attack, and justifying his MOM award with a poachers try.

Tim Brittan, made a welcome return to bridge colours, with one piece of inspiration, when we flicked a pass over his head setting up hatrick hero Will Frampton, for his first score of the afternoon. A leg injury forced a slight reshuffle with Jordan Donaldson showing his versatility by switching into the centre, and Will popping onto the wing. The one legged bandit, scored another pair of tries.

The set piece was a talking point with the lineout proving to be a good source of attacking ball, but the scrum........ A level of safety has to be observed, but when the opposition failed 1. to stay down in the scrum and 2. not listening to any tips / coaching advice being offered, a plethora of frustration escalated and Mike Parry had the wrath of the referee after being pinged a couple of times, but soon the referee realised the fault could not be blamed on the veteran prop.

However, Fordingbridge, still piled on the pressure all afternoon, with the home side deciding that the 22 was going to be their try line, which they defended as if their life depended on it, with Oaks failing to cross the line in either half. Martin Cook chopped at the ankles, with Alex Tattersall proving to be a perfect foil, turning numerous ball over setting up the speedy Fordingbridge backline.

Young Madgwick, is growing in confidence each week, and is starting to boss his pack of forwards, which was evident all afternoon, with bulldozing second row Phillip Collier "pushing" his opponents out of the way all afternoon.

This performance proved that if we could get the same level of commitment, each week for both home and away fixtures, we would be force to be reckoned with. Slick passing and players once into contact looking to power past their opposition, would have had coach Stockley almost raising a smile.
