In our regular club newsletters we'll be introducing you to some of the members and supporters of the club....

Tim takes over the reins this month as Chairman, so let's find out a bit more about him and his involvement with the club.....

When did you first get involved with Fordingbridge RFC? I'm really excited to be stepping up to the role of Chair after two years as Vice Chair. Previously I was Chair of the Minis section and coached a number of age groups, I've been a VP for a number of years, and a (very) occasional player! My elder brother Jerry played in one of the very first Fordingbridge sides, back in the late 1980s.

What position did you play? Well I'd say scrum half. Others may disagree!

What makes Fordingbridge RFC special? The family feel to the club, the passion shown throughout the age groups from under 4s all the way up to the ladies and senior sides, and the great standard of rugby that we get to see week in week out. It's the volunteers that make the club run so smoothly, we couldn't do it without them!

Which player past or present would you loved to have played with? Present would be Danny Cipriani, past would have been Richard Hill

What's the best advice you've ever been given? Worry less about what you're not good at. Do more of what you're good at.

How do you see the future of the club? Good question. We're just working on a new five year plan for the club, covering playing rugby, our community, finances, volunteers and facilities. There are exciting times ahead, we have strong teams throughout the club, and a great spirit. I'm looking forward to helping the club flourish in the years to come, and for everyone, player, supporter, VP, coach, parent or volunteer to enjoy their rugby.
