Skipper Mike Parry continues to defy the odds, by getting a team out each week and these boys really got stuck in to South Wilts, right from the off the intensity was high and when the phases were put together SW couldn't handle it with only the last pass failing to make a dent on the scoreline!
A penalty from Markie H opened the scoring at 3-0 to the visitors. SW hit back straight away - there dominance in the scrum was proving a struggle for 'Bridge and strong running from the big boys up front was denting the committed defence, thankfully their backs couldn't hit a barn door with their passing so there was some respite!
A score from the base of scrum gave them the lead at 5-3 which was probably about fair on reflection. At the break things were positive in the 'Bridge camp and if the intensity could stay up - we were in with a shout!
Unfortunately where we slacked off a touch, SW picked it up and once one score and gone in following a nicely created overlap, the flood gates opened for about fifteen minutes when SW ran in some good scores, capitilising on the weary bridge players! The final 15 minutes saw 'Bridge rally very well with some strong scrummaging and revisiting the intensity of the first half! SW did well to hold them out with their hooker at the forefront in the breakdown.
Anyway it was certainly a step-up from the previous week in terms of a performance and with the team continuing to work together - winning ways will return to the Rec soon!
