Ernie Stack, staunch supporter and VP of Fordingbridge Rugby Club, has passed away.

Ernie loved rugby and has enjoyed the last seven years supporting Fordingbridge not only from the side line but also from most local hostelries. When ever you met him he wanted to know how the Club was doing and he would gladly give his advice. Most of you, that had the pleasure of knowing Ernie, will remember him for the 'stories'. He was in the RAF during the Second World War, in the Far East and he would regale one with the stories that came from his final position in Burma and the return to 'Old Blighty'. After the War he carried on to become a very well respected Vintner in London. Again the 'stories' are legendary!

Ernie's Funeral will take place at St Mary's Church, Fordingbridge on Tuesday 7th February 2017 at 14:30hrs. Refreshments after the Service will be at the Sports Club. We do hope as many of you will be able to gather in his memory as possible. Please let John Marsh know you are coming to enable the caterers to have an idea of numbers.

There are some great photos of Ernie in one of our albums from 2014 when he went to France to lay a wreath at the Bayeaux War Memorial.
